The “BOUNCE” Program – Building Resilience + Well Being

Nathan Hulls is Australia’s #1 Youth Speaker for High School students and specialises in designing and delivering high school well being programs which focus on building resilience, social + emotional well being, engagement and motivation and is in high demand all over the country.

His “BOUNCE” program is built on the 4 core principles of resilience + well being:

  1. I AM
  2. I CAN
  3. I HAVE
  4. I SEE

Nathan’s research includes the work of Carol Dweck who is famous for her research and work around “Growth Mindset”, Martin Seligman the father of Positive Psychology and the PERMA Framework and Professor Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi who wrote the book “Flow” and researched “The Secret to Happiness”.

His work is built around the understanding that students develop resilience, well being and confidence when they build on the 4 core principals, developing their:

  1. Identity
  2. Capacity and Competency
  3. Support Networks and Relationships
  4. Optimism and Hope for the Future

The Full “BOUNCE” Program is a 2.5 hour incursion targetted at Year 9 and 10 student, however it can be modified for other cohorts.  It includes a 60 minute keynote presentation “Decide Your Own Destiny” which covers the topics of:

  • – Stuff happens – It’s How You Deal With It!
  • – Decisions Create Destiny
  • – You Cant Change The Past – You Can Create The Future
  • – The Curse of Comparison
  • – The Blame Game
  • – Taking Responsibility
  • – Write Your Own Story
  • – The Superhero In You
  • – Seeds of Greatness

After the 60 minute keynote presentation Nathan presents a highly engaging and interactive 90 minute workshop and conversation around the topic of RESILIENCE looking at:

  • – What do you want from life?
  • – What could stop you from having that?
  • – What are the biggest blockers?
  • – The Power of Focus
  • – Using Your Body To Be Better
  • – Our Words Create Our World
  • – Mindfulness and Mental Health
  • – The 6 P’s To “BOUNCE” – Purpose, Passion, Potential, Practice, Positivity, People
  • The Power of Gratitude
  • Work To Your Strengths and Identify Your Traits

Nathan also has tailored a number of teacher PD’s and parent workshops around well being, engagement and motivation to create a whole of community approach around enhancing and developing the resilience of the whole school community.
